SEN LEARNING ASSISTANTS

Gurnard Primary School is a successful two-form entry primary school set in a stunning coastal location and graded ‘good’ by Ofsted in November 2019. 

We are looking to appoint two experienced and skilled SEN Learning Assistants to support a pupil with a specific physical disability.  The role will involve providing 1:1 support including manual handling, personal care and hoisting in and out of a wheelchair on a daily basis.  You may also be required to provide general and in class support.  Previous experience of working with physical disabilities is a requirement and all applicants must be willing to assist with personal care. Experience of working with children with English as an additional language would be an advantage but not essential.  If you are a caring, friendly and patient person or have a care/support worker background then this would be an ideal role for you.

 

Post 1:    

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 8.15am-1.00pm term-time only

Salary: Hay Scale 5A Actual salary £10,245 - £10,449 (Full time equivalent £19,554 - £19,945) 

 

Post 2:    

Hours: 12.5 hours per week, 12.45pm-3.15pm, term-time only

Salary: Hay Scale 5A Actual salary £5,691 - £5,805 (Full time equivalent £19,554 - £19,945) 

 

Both positions are fixed term posts linked to a pupil with an EHCP.  The starting date is February/March 2020.
