Is your child starting school in September 2018?

Your child can start primary school in the September after they have reached the age of 4 (i.e. children that were born on or between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014).

The closing date for online applications for Reception Classes places for September 2018 is 15th January 2018.

Summer born children

If your child has their 4th birthday during the period 1st April to 31st August 2018, the Department for Education guidance and the School Admissions Code allow parents to delay entry of their children into the school system if they do not feel their children are ready to begin school at this point. Admissions during the school year

We warmly welcome new children and their families to our school community. Parents/carers who are considering sending their child to Gurnard Primary School are very welcome to come and visit us. We will be happy to show you around the school and answer any questions that you might have.  Individual appointments can be made at a time to suit you by contacting the school by email at office@gurnardprimaryschool.co.uk or by telephoning our School Office on 01983 295713.

The Isle of Wight Council is the Admissions Authority for all Community and Voluntary Controlled schools on the Island. All applications for places at Gurnard Primary School should be made to the Admissions Department at the Isle of Wight Council. They can be contacted at:
